Description
La Atalaya is a red wine from the D.O. Almansa produced by Bodegas Atalaya, belonging to the Orowines group of Jorge Ordoñez. This winery is located in the municipality of Almansa (Albacete).
La Atalaya is made from the Garnacha Tintorera variety, a type of grape native to the area, and from the Monastrell variety. The grapes come from vineyards planted between 700m and 1000m high on sandy and limestone soils.
For its elaboration, a maceration-fermentation is carried out in stainless steel tanks for about 20 days at a temperature of 25ºC.
After winemaking, La Atalaya is aged for 12 months in French oak barrels.
