Colour: Cherry wine very covered, intense and with hardly any signs of evolution.
Nose: Very expressive with notes of licorice, cinnamon and black pepper, where the long aging in wood is barely perceived, thanks to its great complexity and concentration of ripe fruit.
Mouth: Fresh with very nice polished tannins, with good structure but easy to drink. The end of the mouth is long and leaves some slight balsamic memories of great quality.

In Marqués de Riscal, the winemakers mark each of the barrels with different acronyms to refer to the quality of the wines contained in them. In this way, XR refers to Extra Reserva, and it is a way of communicating that the contents of the barrel have a quality and characteristics that make it an outstanding Reserve.
