Matsu El Recio, crafted by the renowned Matsu winery in the prestigious D.O. Toro, represents a modern and sustainable winemaking initiative. This exceptional red wine is the embodiment of organic and biodynamic viticulture practices.
Matsu El Recio is exclusively crafted from the Tinta de Toro grape variety, sourced from meticulously chosen vineyards aged between 90 and 100 years old. These vineyards yield limited production, ensuring the utmost quality in every bottle.
During the winemaking process, the grape must ferments for a duration of three weeks in 15,000-kilo tanks, preserving the authentic essence of the grapes. Subsequently, a meticulous malolactic fermentation takes place in French oak barrels, infusing the wine with subtle complexities.
Following this, Matsu El Recio gracefully matures within the same barrels for a duration of 14 months. It’s important to note that we refrain from aggressive processes, eschewing filtering and clarification methods that might compromise the wine’s integrity. Instead, we opt for a natural approach, allowing the wine to shine in its purest form.
